You may be able to find a brighter bulb (whiter light) and the same wattage. A good idea is to look at what temp (kelvin) the bulbs burn at. A yellow bulb may burn at 2500K. as you get hotter it becomes whiter (4000K-6000K). Above that the light begins to turn bluish (8500K) and almost purple at 10000K.Also, make sure you change both at the same time even if just one burns out. Be careful not to touch the bulb. The lense is very delicate and the oils from your fingers will make certian parts of the bulb burn hotter then other parts (ultimately burning the bulb out).Hope that helps....
