The 'base' RSX is roughly the performance equivalent of the new Honda CIVIC Si. I have seen clips on YouTube of older Honda Civics running the quarter mile in the low 10 second range...clearly a very aggressive buildout generating several hundred hp...hardly a street car.You may have got the impression that the 'base' RSX cannot be supercharged from information coming off the COMPTECH USA.com website. They offer a supercharger kit, but only for the type 'S' version. However, a search of the Internet will likely reveal other manufacturers offering both supercharging as well as turbocharging options.A supercharger build-out including headers & exhaust will likely give an RSX (base model) an addtional 50-60 hp over stock. Typcially, most superchargers add somewhere from 4 - 6 lbs of boost...a fairly modest gain...it preserves daily drivability & street reliability of the vehicle. It would take a more aggressive approach such as installing a turbocharger and adding a 'hot street' cam to the mix to get the kind of gains you mentioned. Also, it would not be wise to pursue too much additional power from an automatic transmission. The RSX's AT wasn't built to handle the kinds of gains you're interested in. And large increases in power will also add an unnerving amount of torque steer. Minimally you'd want to add an external transmission cooler, plus consider a limited slip differential...while being happy with lesser power gains coming from under 8 psi of boost.
