The reason there is no Acura in Malaysia is because Americans have a thing for vanity. And so Honda wanted to appeal to those people. Acura was formed simply to detached itself from the Honda namebadge and make it seem like it was a higher luxury type of vehicle. Same thing with Lexus/Toyota, Nissan/Infinity and VW/Audi.
