I check the tension of the timing belt before closing covers and It
looked all right to me. I will recheck it though.

Could you please explain your statement about aligning balancer belt.
Before reassembly it looked good. Properly tensioned. Gear marks on
the front shaft were at place. Rear shaft was locked.

The only weak point was the crank shaft key that wanted to travel too
deep inside. So I just aligned it flash with the end of the shaft.
