Re: '93 Accord Cold Start Problem Part II
The problem: When the weather is cold I can only get the car to turn
over (and 'jump' periodically). Once it gets going it will restart no
problem. Holding the accelerator down, half or all the way, helps
make it 'jump' more but not ever fully start. Sometimes it helps to
jump it off by getting it to turn over faster. I have had the battery
tested twice and came up OK.
I was advised to replace the fuel injector since one of my plugs was
black and burnt up after a few weeks and heavily smelled of gas.
After replacing the first injector the plug has remained pristine.
Two other plugs started fouling - that's why we replaced those.
I ran a bottle of Techron through prior to the first replacement and
noticed no change. I ran another bottle through after the first
replacement and noticed no change.
I am the third owner of this car, although it has only been for a year
and a half.
Thanks for all of your input. I'm out of ideas!!
