It could be worse. The Accord Hybrid engages regenerative braking in
addition to the grabby brakes. If that wasn't bad enough, the
regenerative braking randomly cuts out and the car lurches forwards. It
was dangerous originally on the 05 HAH but software updates have made
the cut-out more gradual.

The jerk you felt is probably the torque converter disengaging. I don't
know about the 06 V6 but the 05 HAH has the slowest responding
transmission that I've ever experienced. This is my second Honda and
this was not what I was expecting.
