Default Re: 1998 Honda Accord LX Wont Start With Key

Have the recall done by your dealer.
But, to answer your question, the new ignition switch has a ring in it to
read the code on your key, but the code must match what the computer on your
car has stored. The new keys must be programmed to the car by either reading
an old key (on a decoder) and then programming your new keys. Or all keys
and the computer can be programmed anew to match each other.
