Hondas especially c. 1985-1999 or so are prone to water pump
(bearing IIRC) failure if, generally speaking, genuine Honda
coolant is not used. One of the regulars here calls the
result "Hondacide" because it's pretty well known among
Honda enthusiasts.

I would have the car drained, flushed a few times, then
refilled with genuine Honda coolant. It's obtainable at your
dealer for about $15/gallon, already mixed.

In the alternative, several folks here (including myself)
have been using the orange Havoline Dexcool with success for
several years. I used something else that was non-OEM before
this and did in fact have a premature water pump failure.

I can't say what your technician put in exactly. All I know
is that it would be a roll of the dice.
