I'm not a car person, so I've been trying to browse the newsgroup, but
I don't get everything that's going on. I'm trying to get an idea for
how much I should expect to pay, and what really needs to be replaced
on my car.

The exhaust pipe, between the muffler and resonator, is corroded and
broken in two places (about 1" and 2-3' upstream of the muffler). The
muffler was replaced two years ago, but the shop told me that the
connection is too rusted to be reliably clamped to (so I should replace
the muffler, too). They also pointed to the joints immediately
surrounding the resonator as being rusted/corroded, and suggested
pre-emptively replacing that as well.

1) I clearly need to replace the pipe, but do I need to replace the
rest?
2) How much should this run me?

They gave me the following estimate:
Extension pipe $30
Resonator assembly $135
Quiet-flow muffler $155
Labor $68

>From what I've gathered, the muffler looks over-priced. Am I right?
What about the rest?
