Wary about my recent Accord purchase - any advice
Hi,
I ordered a new 06 Accord EX-L a couple of weeks ago. I checked prices
with several dealers via e-mail and phone, and one was considerably
lower. They called and said that they had made a mistake and quoted me
an EX without leather by accident, but would still honor the price for
the EX-L. I have a nice faxed and e-mailed invoice that shows I put a
deposit down, the total cost for the car, and the model, make, etc.
They did not try to cop out of the deal and were honest about it. I
called other dealers and none could match that price, and even guessed
that the other dealer quoted cloth.
The car is on order, and according to the invoice I have, it is being
manufactured mid december. They said delivery maybe by Christmas, but
more likely first week in January.
So - should I be worried about anything? What should I watch out for?
Only thing I could think of is that they may take an EX and add leather
at the dealership, but then it would not have all the other features
that a factory EX-L comes with.
As for the order, is it typical that they would not know exact
manufacturing and delivery dates? They said 4 of the color and style I
want are being made for our region, and that they have done an on-line
trade with one of the dealers that one was to be shipped to, so that it
is shipped directly to them. Is there any way for me to verify this.
I suppose the other worry is that they keep delaying me indefinitely,
but then why do the deal in the first place.
