Default Re: Life-Time Brake Pads?

My layperson's impression of "life-time pads" (based on general reading) is
that they use a harder material than non-lifetime pads.

Unless Honda has some new package deal it's offering, such pads are an
after-market product.

Using such pads means brake rotor wear is greater. Brake rotors are a lot
more expensive (parts-wise and labor wise) than brake pads.

I would stick with OEM pads. The price difference is not all that great.

I have had non-OEM pads in my 91 Civic for a few years now. They're an
aftermarket make that's supposed to last longer. I bought these pads when I
was naive on the subject. I watch my rotors closely (I change my own brake
pads). In hindsight and after comparing prices, I'd rather have OEM pads. I
don't fret too much about it because I use the car's engine to brake a lot.
