I ended up taking the car to the gas station to have the a/c fixed - I
didn't have the time to work on it - too many late night at the office.
They said I was right, the compressor clutch failed, but the system did have
pressure. They swapped in the unit I bought from the junk year that has a 1
year warrantty on it.

The problem with the horn was a corroded wire between the relay and the
horn.
