To the good comments others have made I would add colder temperatures
as a contributing factor if that applies. The biggest culprit may be
your right foot. Do you accelerate faster and/or stop harder than
with your Mazda? Honda engines are very efficient, but if you demand
more power it has to come out of the tank.

Short trips are hard on milage also.
