Whatever you do, do not buy the rebuilt alternators from PepBoys.
Everyone that I have heard complain that theirs blew out after a year
or two have all said they came from PepBoys. Granted that these same
people had Ford/GM cars. I bought mine rebuilt from Honda for a hefty
$260 and hope that it will last as long as my old one did (8 years)!
If the location of the alternator is in the same location as in my
Integra, then it will be a pain to get it out as you have to remove
part of the drive shaft to remove it. If it is on top like the accords
then it is pretty easy to get to and you should be able to install it
yourself.
Good Luck,
Nick
