I don't know what the book says, but I had it installed when I bought my
02 new in September of 2001. Mine was the first 2002 Odyssey they
delivered, and my tech had not ever seen the subwoofer. He got it
installed in about an hour.

I think I paid $300 or so for it installed. $700 is outrageous.
