My suggestion, and I'm 100% serious, is to forget fog lights
altogether. IMHO, they're the most misunderstood accessory in the
automotive world right now. All they're designed for is visualizing
the edge of the road when there's fog so thick that you really can't
see through it, and almost no one living outside of London or San
Francisco or places like that has ANY legitimate reason to have them.
It's terribly unfortunate that they started putting them on most
vehicles in the US where the ONLY function they serve 99.9% of the
time is to put TWICE as many lumens on the retinas of the people with
whom the user is sharing the road, making it more difficult for them
to see and making it MORE likely that an accident will happen to
someone. Where I live in the midwest, it's especially aggravating to
be driving down suburban streets where every unaware SUV driver has
his or her ********* fog lights on for NO reason and aimed right in my
eyes. He cannot see the road one iota better, but I can hardly see it
at all. I think they're as ill-advised as people driving with cell
phones plastered to their faces.
You do NOT need fog lights. That's the reason Honda doesn't make them
standard equipment, even on EX V6's. Please give consideration to not
installing them.
